No Regrets - The Blah Street Gang
Recorded at the Picco Studios in 2013, this was the debut album from The Blah Street Gang.
I met Martin on a train to London back in those early days and we discovered we shared a love for song writing. Martin had some songs as well as myself so we decided to record our first album No Regrets. Our good friend Jerry Baker joined us to help do the gutar parts and help with the production. As well as our own original material we also recorded some covers but with our own twist. Have a listen to 'Walk Like a Man' which showed we enjoyed doing plenty vocal harmonies and backing too. 'Dance With You' was one of Martins ideas and has a lovely lilt to it while my 'Standing in the Wild' has a country and western feel but meloncholy.
'No Regrets' is a tribute to my dad and I'm glad I finally got to record it. Martin came up with 'Mummer Christmas'Â which is a song about the Mummers who performed their stage act every Boxing Day around our area. This song was sold at their performances as a CD with the monies going to charity.
There's a song for everyone here.
